A team set up by the National Universities Commission (NUC) paid a courtesy visit to the management of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the hospital’s boardroom.

According to the Provost of the College of Nursing Sciences, Dr. Pauline Guobadia, the team was constituted to conduct a mock resource verification of the School of Nursing, UCH, with the aim of assessing its readiness for affiliation with the Faculty of Nursing, University of Ibadan.

Speaking during the session, the Principal of the School of Nursing, Dr. Adenike Olaniyi, explained that the exercise was a preparatory step toward securing accreditation for the School to award the Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.) degree.

The Director of Affiliated Institutions at the University of Ibadan, Professor Francis Offor, who led the team, stated that the purpose of the visit was to verify and confirm that the School of Nursing is adequately prepared and empowered to award the B.N.Sc. degree.

Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Medical Director of UCH, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, represented by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Professor Olubukola Adesina, assured the team of the management’s full support. He emphasized the institution’s commitment by stating, “We are ready to comply with your observations and do whatever is required.”
