NYSC DG Announces #77,000 Monthly Allowance for corps Members

The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General  Yushau Ahmed, has confirmed that corps members will start receiving a #77,000 monthly allownce from this February 2025, a significant increase from the previous #33,000, was approved in the 2025 Federal Government budget.

The announcement was made by General Ahmed during his address to the 2024 Batch 'c' Stream ii corps members in Katsina. He expressed the government's commitment to improving the welfare of corps members and urged them to reciprocate this gesture by dedicating themselves to their service year.

General Ahmed also reassured corps members of their safety, emphasizing that they would not be deployed to areas with security challenges."We will not send our corps members to wherever we have challenges of security threats. Wherever we send them, they should be rest assured that the place is safe and secured for them to serve," he said.

Corps members and prospective graduates across the country have since reacted positively to the announcement, expressing optimism about the financial relief the new allowance would bring.
