Oko Poly Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie Celebrates One-Year Anniversary
The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, celebrated her first year in office during the institution’s monthly prayer meeting held on 4th February 2026.

Originally scheduled for 3rd February, the session was rescheduled to coincide with the Rector’s anniversary.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Awuzie drew from Psalm 3:5-6, expressing gratitude and attributing her leadership journey to divine guidance. She emphasized that progress is not achieved solely through experience, intellect, policies, or procedures, but through complete reliance on God. Citing Psalm 127:1, she encouraged leaders and administrators to trust in God and commit their plans to Him, noting that sustainable advancement follows when steps are divinely ordered, bringing clarity, stability, and excellence.
Dr. Awuzie also called on staff to align with God’s will and support her vision for the Polytechnic’s development, expressing confidence that the same divine guidance that enabled a strong start would sustain continued impact and growth.

The Rector led staff in prayers for the institution, Nigeria, and their families. Staff members praised her focus, resilience, and developmental strides within her first year in office. Former Acting Rector and Acting Dean, School of Science and Technology, Dr. Augustina Ugo Okeke, commended Dr. Awuzie’s leadership, highlighting her exceptional performance and commitment to institutional advancement.
