Redeemer’s University Professor Appointed Chairman, Board of Trustees of Crawford University

Former Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Redeemer’s University, Ede, Professor Afolorunso Olalekan Dairo, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Crawford University, Igbesa, Ogun State.

Prof Dairo’s appointment places him in the top leadership of one of Nigeria’s foremost Christian universities.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter dated September 16, 2026, and signed by Rev. Dr Isaac Adigun, Proprietor and Chancellor of Crawford University and District Superintendent, Apostolic Faith Church, West and Central Africa (WECA) Headquarters.

According to the letter, Prof Dairo was appointed in recognition of his distinguished leadership qualities, unwavering commitment to Christian virtues, outstanding service to the church and society, as well as his versatility in university administration.

The Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Prof Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, congratulated Prof Dairo on the appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to provide purposeful leadership to Crawford University.

“I warmly congratulate Professor Afolorunso Olalekan Dairo on his appointment as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Crawford University.

“It is also a testament to the confidence reposed in his wealth of experience, wisdom and capacity to provide purposeful leadership and chart a new strategic direction for the positioning of Crawford University as a leading citadel of learning in the comity of universities globally.

Prof Dairo’s appointment is for an initial five-year tenure, with the possibility of renewal for a second term based on satisfactory performance.
