Rivers State University Hosts Cinfores MD/CEO at 3rd Distinguished Alumni Mentoring Series
On September 12, 2025, Mr. Ibifuro Asawo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Cinfores Limited, delivered a keynote address at Rivers State University’s 3rd Distinguished Alumni Mentoring Series, themed “The Audacity to Start: Risk, Resilience, and Reward.”

On September 12, 2025, Mr. Ibifuro Asawo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Cinfores Limited, delivered a keynote address at Rivers State University’s 3rd Distinguished Alumni Mentoring Series, themed “The Audacity to Start: Risk, Resilience, and Reward.”
In his address, Mr. Asawo recounted how he and his classmates founded Cinfores, an IT solutions company, over two decades ago. He shared the challenges they overcame, stressing the importance of taking bold steps, embracing risk, and maintaining resilience in the face of uncertainty.
He acknowledged Prof. B. B. Fakae, former Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, as a mentor whose support enabled the founding team to manage the University’s website—Cinfores’ first major opportunity. Mr. Asawo also thanked the current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, for pioneering the use of Cinfores’ E-voting software for Student Union Government elections during his tenure as Dean of Student Affairs, establishing Cinfores as a trusted tech partner in academia.
The event was chaired by Prof. B. B. Fakae, with Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi serving as Chief Host. Mr. Asawo was honored with a souvenir by the Global President of the Alumni Association, Lady Perekebina Berezi, and decorated by Prof. Franklin Nlerum on behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
The mentoring series offered a platform to celebrate alumni achievements while inspiring students and younger alumni to pursue bold ideas, embrace challenges, and aim for impactful careers.
