The Rotary International District 9112 has awarded scholarships to five students of the Tai Solarin Federal University of Education under the District Educational and Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF) scheme.

The initiative forms part of Rotary’s commitment to supporting education, empowering young people, and promoting academic excellence within tertiary institutions.

According to the organisers, the beneficiaries were selected from a large pool of qualified students drawn from public tertiary institutions across Lagos and Ogun states.

  1. Odufuwa Peculiar Darasimi – English Studies
  2. Ishola Oluwadamilola Deborah – Computer Science
  3. Nature Daniel Oluwadamilare – Computer Science
  4. Ikechukwu Daniel Uchenna – Computer Science
  5. Asimoye Chibueze Monday – Computer Science

Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive a scholarship valued at ₦250,000, covering academic support from 200 Level through 400 Level.

The DEWEF programme was established during the 1991/1992 Rotary year by District 9110 with the objective of supporting indigent but academically outstanding students in higher institutions across Nigeria.

The scholarship award reflects Rotary’s continued investment in educational development and student empowerment, particularly for students with strong academic potential but limited financial resources.
