RSU Announces 118th Inaugural Lecture

The Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, will on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, host its 118th Inaugural Lecture.
The lecture, titled “From Algorithms to Impact: Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Socio-Economic Transformation”, will be delivered by Professor Daniel Matthias, a Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi, who spoke on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Senate, staff, and students, the inaugural lecture is part of the university’s academic tradition of promoting intellectual discourse and advancing knowledge.
The event will take place at the Dr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike Senate Building by 2:00 p.m. under the chairmanship of Professor Patrick Nwinyokpugi, Chairman of the University Lectures Committee.
The Registrar, Mrs. Ibimonia B. S. Harry, noted that members of the university community and the public are invited to attend the lecture, which promises to provide valuable insights into the role of technology in driving socio-economic progress.
