It is with utmost grief and pain, that, the University wishes to formally announce the passing away of the Examination Officer, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (FSMS), Malama Jamila Musa Ali who passed away following Cesarean Section which led to the birth of a baby boy on Tuesday 12th May, 2026.
A Lecturer 1 in the Department of Sociology of the FSMS, Late Jamila was until her death undergoing her Ph.D Programme at Bayero University, Kano. The deceased started her working career in 2012 during the then Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies (JICORAS), before her absorption into the service of the University in 2014.
Jamila died at the age of 39 leaving behind her husband Muhammad Hafiz and three children namely; Juwairiyya, Mamah and the new baby Muhammad Ayyan and a host of other relatives.
The remains of Late Jamila has since being buried according to Islamic rites after a funeral prayer at Brigade, ‘Yantsire in Kano metropolis.
May Allaah in His infinite mercy grant the gentle soul of Malama Jamila eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and her family the fortitude to bear the loss.
