Taraba State University Secures NUC Approval for 24 New Undergraduate Programmes
Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, reached another height with the approval of 24 new undergraduate programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC), effective from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by the NUC and was secured under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunday Paul Bako.
According to the approval letter issued by the Commission, all the newly approved programmes will be offered on a full-time basis at the university's main campus in Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba State.
The approved programmes are:

1. B.A. Sharia
2. B.A. Christian Theology
3. B.A. Philosophy
4. B.A. Religious Studies
5. B.A. African Traditional Religion
6. B.A. Classics
7. B.Sc. Advertisement
8. B.Sc. Broadcasting
9. B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
10. B.Sc. Public Relations
11. B.Sc. Data Science
12. B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology
13. B.Sc. Software Engineering
14. B.Sc. Human Anatomy
15. B.Sc. Human Physiology
16. B.Rad. Radiology
17. B.Sc. Banking and Finance
18. B.Sc. Meteorology and Climate Studies
19. B.Sc. Survey and Geo-Informatics
20. B.Ed. Special Needs Education
21. B.Ed. Entrepreneurship
22. B.Ed. Sustainable Development Studies
23. B.Ed. Human Kinetics
24. B.Ed. Health Education
The approval represents a major expansion of the university's academic offerings and is expected to increase access to quality higher education while strengthening teaching, research, innovation and community service.
