UDUS Inter-Faculty Debate Competition Concludes, Faculty of Law Emerges Victorious
The Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has successfully concluded its Inter-Faculty Debate Competition, held on February 14, 2025, as part of the Marhaba Week activities.
The competition brought together students from various faculties, showcasing their intellectual abilities in a keenly contested battle of wits. After rigorous rounds of debate, the Faculty of Law secured the top position with 216 points (108%), closely followed by the Faculty of Education and Extension Services with 214 points (107%).
The competition was adjudicated by Dr. Garba Ibrahim from the Department of Modern European Languages and Linguistics (MELL), who assessed the participants based on argument coherence, logical reasoning, and presentation skills.
The MSSN UDUS expressed appreciation to all participants for their outstanding efforts, emphasizing the significance of such intellectual engagements in fostering academic excellence and critical thinking among students.
The final standings of the competition are as follows:
1. Faculty of Law - 216 points (108%)
2. Faculty of Education and Extension Services - 214 points (107%)
3. School of Medical Laboratory Science - 212 points (106%)
4. Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies - 189 points (99.5%)
5. Faculty of Agriculture - 187 points (93.5%)
