UDUS Promotes Nine Academic Staff to the Rank of Professor

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has announced the promotion of nine academic staff to the prestigious rank of Professor in various disciplines.

According to the special bulletin released on Friday, June 20, 2025, the promoted academics cut across different faculties, including the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Education and Extension Services, and Health Sciences.

The development follows the outcome of the university’s recent promotion exercise, approved by the University Governing Council at its 172nd meeting, chaired by Professor Attahiru Muhammad Jega, OFR.

The newly promoted Professors include:- Dr. Ibrahim Garba of the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences, now a Professor of Microbiology, and Dr. Asamau Adamu of the College of Health Sciences, now Professor of Paediatrics, among others.
