The University Of Abuja has honoured fourteen exceptional students with a total of ₦1.5 million in academic excellence awards during the 2025 International Students’ Day Celebration.

The event, held on Thursday, 20 November 2025, at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, featured the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leadership, led by its President, Comrade Olusola Oladoja, who stressed that the initiative reflects NANS’ belief that hard work must be recognised and excellence must be rewarded.

Each awardee received ₦100,000, while the overall best student, Adedayo Mercy Ibrahim of the Faculty of Agriculture, earned ₦200,000 after attaining an outstanding CGPA of 4.88.

Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, commended the students for their dedication and superior performance. He noted that sustained improvement and collaborative commitment remain central to advancing the University’s academic standards.

Several recipients expressed gratitude to the University’s management and the NANS leadership, describing the award as a strong motivation to pursue even higher academic achievement.
