UNIABUJA Opens Change of Course Window for 2025/2026 Admission Applicants
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has announced a change of course opportunity for prospective students whose initial programme choices for the 2025/2026 academic session are already filled up.
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has announced a change of course opportunity for prospective students whose initial programme choices for the 2025/2026 academic session are already filled up.
In a statement issued by the Admission Committee, affected candidates are advised to choose from a list of approved alternative courses provided by the university. The committee emphasized that any selection outside the specified alternatives will not be considered, as admissions will be processed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to available spaces.
Candidates are also reminded that changing a course does not automatically guarantee admission. All affected applicants are expected to complete their change of course process at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre or JAMB office before the deadline — Wednesday, 5th November 2025.

According to the notice, the following options are available:
- Medicine & Surgery, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Pharmacy, or Biochemistry applicants may switch to Agriculture, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Environmental Education, Agricultural Education, Biology Education, or Integrated Science Education.
- Computer Science applicants may change to Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or Mathematics Education.
- Law, English, or Journalism and Media Studies applicants may switch to History and Diplomatic Studies, Linguistics, Broadcasting, Development and Communication Studies, Strategic Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Philosophy, History Education, Guidance and Counselling Education, Library and Information Science, Social Studies Education, or Primary Education Studies.
- Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical) applicants may change to Railway Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Building, or Industrial Design.
- Architecture applicants may switch to Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Building, or Industrial Design.
- Economics applicants may opt for Estate Management (with at least a credit in Biology) or Urban and Regional Planning.
