The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has commenced a series of consultative meetings with key organs of the University as part of his drive for inclusive governance and institutional stability.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has commenced a series of consultative meetings with key organs of the University as part of his drive for inclusive governance and institutional stability.

The engagements involve staff unions, student leaders, and members of the Committee of Deans and Directors, and are aimed at strengthening collaboration, fostering peace on campus, and aligning stakeholders with the administration’s vision for growth and excellence.

Speaking during the meetings, Professor Fawehinmi reiterated that his administration operates an open-door policy, emphasising that staff and student welfare, constructive dialogue, and campus harmony remain top priorities. He urged all unions to work closely with management to reposition the University for greater academic and administrative achievements.

While addressing the Students’ Union Government, the Vice-Chancellor assured students that critical welfare concerns — including transportation, accommodation, and student facilities — are currently under review and will be handled with fairness and transparency.

Professor Fawehinmi also called on the University community to uphold unity, responsibility, and professionalism, noting that collective commitment is essential to restoring and sustaining institutional excellence.

In response, members of staff expressed optimism about the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership direction, commending his consultative approach and pledging their full support towards the University’s development agenda.
