UNILAG-HRDC, CIPE Flag Off Train-the-Trainer Programme for Innovative ACE Initiative

The Human Resources Development Centre of the University of Lagos (HRDC-UNILAG), in collaboration with the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), on Monday, August 25, 2025, commenced a Training the Trainer Programme for its Association and Chamber Excellence (ACE) initiative.

The Human Resources Development Centre of the University of Lagos (HRDC-UNILAG), in collaboration with the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), on Monday, August 25, 2025, commenced a Training the Trainer Programme for its Association and Chamber Excellence (ACE) initiative.

Participants at the five-day training, which will conclude on Friday, August 29, 2025, include faculty members of UNILAG, senior representatives of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), and executives from notable business organizations.

The programme, holding at the HRDC-UNILAG Building, is facilitated by CIPE resource persons including Grace Nzou from Kenya, alongside Steven Rosenlund and Carmen Stanila from the United States of America.

Director of HRDC-UNILAG, Dr. Lateef Odekunle, who announced the commencement of the training, described the initiative as a milestone in the Centre’s growing profile of productive engagements and partnerships targeted at advancing capacity development for industry needs and national growth.

The ACE Programme is a certification and professional development scheme designed to build and consolidate the capacity of leaders in chambers of commerce, members of the business community, and professional associations, with the vision of expanding across West Africa.

According to the organisers, the programme seeks to professionalize chamber and association management, strengthen institutional capacity, elevate the credibility of private sector actors, and nurture a new generation of leaders to drive Nigeria’s economic transformation and regional trade integration.

At the end of the training, participants will be engaged as facilitators alongside CIPE experts to deliver on the certification objectives of the ACE Programme.
