Major Mohammed Abiya (Rtd), Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), has been recognised for his exceptional contributions to community safety, receiving the Icon of Security Ambassadorship Award from the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA).

The award was presented during Major Abiya’s participation at the North-West Youth Multi-Stakeholders’ Security Summit on Social Vices, held on 17 December 2025 at the Coronation Hall, Kano State Government House, Kano.
