AE-FUNAI Newly Appointed VC Prof. Nwachukwu Pledges to Transform AE-FUNAI into Hub of Academic Excellence
The newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Professor Daniel C. Nwachukwu, has pledged to work collaboratively with the university’s council, staff, and students to elevate AE-FUNAI into a center of academic and intellectual excellence.
The newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Professor Daniel C. Nwachukwu, has pledged to work collaboratively with the university’s council, staff, and students to elevate AE-FUNAI into a center of academic and intellectual excellence.

Delivering his acceptance speech following his appointment as the 4th substantive Vice-Chancellor by the Governing Council, Professor Nwachukwu stated:
"I promise to justify the confidence reposed in me by working tirelessly with Council, staff, and students to transform AE-FUNAI into a hub of academic and intellectual excellence."
He further emphasized his commitment to leveraging his experience to drive infrastructural growth, academic innovation, uphold ethical standards, and enhance the university’s global visibility and ranking.
Professor Nwachukwu expressed gratitude to the Governing Council for entrusting him with the leadership of the university and assured the community that the welfare of staff and students will be a top priority.
Dedicating his appointment to the Mother of Perpetual Help, his wife, children, and supporters, he also extended a message of unity to his fellow contestants, urging them to join hands in advancing the institution.

Professor Nwachukwu is set to assume office on 11th February 2026, following the conclusion of the tenure of the current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Elom, on 10th February 2026.
This appointment signals a new era of growth, innovation, and strategic development for AE-FUNAI.
