AE-FUNAI Elevates 10 Academics to Professors, 20 to Readers
The Governing Council of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, at its 40th extraordinary meeting on 19th December 2025, approved the promotion of 10 academic staff to the rank of Professor and the elevation of 20 others to Readers, while also regularizing the appointments of 3 additional staff as Readers.
The promotions followed recommendations from the university’s Appointment and Promotion Committee (A&PC), recognizing outstanding performance for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
The newly appointed Professors include:
- Arua Oko Omaka – War and Society
- Alo Uzoma Rita – Computer Science and Informatics
- Ekeazu Chinedum – Clinical & Nutritional Biochemistry
- Nwachukwu Arthur Nwachukwu – Environmental Physics
- Okoli Peter Chukwunonso – Analytical Chemistry
- Nwosu Innocent Ahamefula – Anthropology
- Ololo Kennedy – Industrial Sociology & Organizational Studies
- Eze Okonkwo Christopher – Labour History
- Agbanike Faith Tobechi – Energy Economics
- Okoro Kingsley Nwannennaya – Sociology of Religion

The 20 academics elevated to Readers include:
- Onuoha Theresa Ngozi – Igbo Cultural Studies
- Victor Chijioke – Political Science
- Epochiolise Ruth Etuwe – Theatre Arts
- Eneje Beatrice Chinyere – Accounting
- Ekpechu Joseph – Medical Sociology
- Chiamah Ogochukwu Caroline – Parasitology
- Ekeleme Agatha Chima – Nutritional Biochemistry
- Urama Evelyn – English & Literary Studies
- Elom Chinyere Ori – Guidance & Counseling
- Okoronkwo Ethelbert – Sociology
Other promoted Readers include Fameruwa Ademola Clement – Medical Sciences, among others.
