UNIMAID Receives Nationwide Congratulations on 25th Convocation and Golden Jubilee
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has received an outpouring of goodwill messages from universities and tertiary institutions across the country following the successful hosting of its 25th Combined Convocation Ceremony and 50th Anniversary celebrations.
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has received an outpouring of goodwill messages from universities and tertiary institutions across the country following the successful hosting of its 25th Combined Convocation Ceremony and 50th Anniversary celebrations.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, acknowledged and expressed deep appreciation for the messages, describing them as a strong demonstration of institutional solidarity and recognition of the University’s enduring contributions to teaching, research, and national development over the past five decades.
Professor Mele disclosed that the congratulatory messages were formally conveyed through official letters signed by Vice-Chancellors of the respective institutions. While some of the letters were personally delivered by the Vice-Chancellors, others were presented by duly designated representatives.

Institutions that sent goodwill messages include Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Bayero University, Kano; Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja; Federal University of Kashere; Federal University of Lafia; Modibbo Adama University, Yola; and the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare. Others are the Nigerian Army University, Biu; Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri; Yobe State University; Adamawa State University; and the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the goodwill messages underscore the strength of inter-university cooperation and reflect a shared commitment to academic excellence, peace-building, and national development. He reaffirmed UNIMAID’s readiness to sustain and deepen collaborative engagements with sister institutions in pursuit of common educational and developmental goals.
The University’s 25th Combined Convocation and Golden Jubilee marked a major milestone in its institutional history, celebrating 50 years of academic growth, resilience, and service to Nigeria and the wider region.
