University College Hospital, Ibadan, Celebrates International Radiology Day 2025

The Department of Radiology, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, in collaboration with the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria (ARIN), marked the International Days of Radiology (IDOR) 2025 with an opening ceremony held on November 7, 2025.

The local theme was "Imaging in Emergencies: Improving Emergency Response, Removing Delays", emphasizing the critical role of radiology in emergency care.

Dr. Adeniji Sofoluwe, Acting Head of Radiology, highlighted the global theme focusing on radiologists' and radiographers' support for patients through empathy, communication, and teamwork.

Dr. Fagbohun Adeniyi, Chairman, ARIN Oyo State Chapter, underscored the significance of radiology in clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment in emergencies.

Prof Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, Chief Medical Director (CMD), appreciated radiologists' contributions to clinical medicine and assured continuous management support.

Prof Otegbayo announced plans to acquire a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine for the Radiology Department, enhancing diagnostic capabilities.

The celebration underscores the importance of radiology in healthcare delivery and UCH's commitment to advancing diagnostic imaging capabilities.
