University of Abuja and NITR Partner to Combat Trypanosomiasis in Sub-Saharan Africa

The University of Abuja has signed a four-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research (NITR) to strengthen research, innovation, and practical solutions to trypanosomiasis, an ailment affecting both humans and animals across sub-Saharan Africa.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, and the NITR Director-General, Dr Joseph Adakaiye, led the signing. The two leaders stressed that the partnership would help deliver impactful and sustainable research outcomes arising from strong institutional support, well-coordinated academic units, and adequate funding."
