To raise awareness about the upcoming $100,000 Nigeria LNG Prize for Science and Innovation, a roadshow was held today at the University of Abuja targeting lecturers and students.

The 2026 edition of the Prize will focus on ICT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Technology.
The delegation was led by Dr. Sophia Horsfall, General Manager of Nigeria LNG, and Professor Barth Nnaji, Chairman of the Prize Advisory Board, alongside other team members. They emphasized the university’s strategic position and strong research community as an ideal starting point for the campaign. Both Horsfall and Nnaji encouraged researchers to engage in cutting-edge projects that address national challenges and foster development.
While declaring the roadshow open, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, represented by Professor Mohammed Abdullahi Katcha, SSA on Administrative Matters, noted that the initiative would stimulate healthy competition among researchers and promote innovation across key technological sectors.
Other Nigeria LNG team members in attendance included Anne-Marie Palmer-Ikuku, Manager, Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, and Elkanah Chawai, Head of Media.
