University of Abuja Releases 2024/2025 Admission Form for Postgraduate Creative Writing Programs

The University of Abuja has announced the opening of admission for its professional postgraduate programs in Creative Writing for the 2024/2025 academic session. The programs, offered by the Centre for Creative Writing, aim to foster and nurture creative writing talents in Nigeria and across Africa.

The Centre for Creative Writing offers various specializations, including Narrative Fiction Writing, Non-Fiction Writing, Creative Writing for Cinematic Dramaturgy, and Creative Writing Production.

To be eligible, applicants must meet specific academic requirements. For the Postgraduate Diploma and Master's programs, a BA or BSc degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of 3.0 GPA and 60% on research work in relevant areas is required. For the PhD program, a Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing or a postgraduate degree in a relevant area from a recognized institution, with a minimum of 3.0 GPA and 60% on research work, is necessary.

The programs have varying durations, with the Postgraduate Diploma lasting 8 months, the Master's Degree taking 2 years, and the Doctorate Degree spanning 3-4 years.
