The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Ilorin has emerged victorious in the 2025 Kwara State Library Schools’ Quiz Contest.

The competition, organised by the Kwara State Branch of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), drew participants from library and information science departments across the state and was held at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa.

The prize was presented to the Head of the Department, Dr. M. T. Bashorun, by the President of the University’s Chapter of the National Association of Library and Information Science Students, Mr. Ahmad Gold Na-Allah, during a ceremony at the department office. Mr. Na-Allah expressed gratitude to the department for preparing students to excel not only in competitions but also in broader academic and professional pursuits.

He assured the department management that students would continue to uphold the University’s reputation through academic excellence and extracurricular achievements.

In response, Dr. Bashorun thanked the students for their outstanding performance and for bringing pride to the University. He pledged that the department would continue to instill high-quality knowledge and the right attitudes in students, equipping them to compete successfully with peers across Nigeria and internationally.
