University of Maiduguri Announces Public Holiday for 2026 Easter Celebrations

The Management of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has officially announced a break for all staff and students in observance of the upcoming 2026 Easter holidays, following the Federal Government's declaration.

In a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the university confirmed that Friday, April 3rd (Good Friday) and Monday, April 6th (Easter Monday) will be observed as public holidays.

The Acting Director of Human Resources, Amina M. Abdullahi, signed the notice on behalf of the Registrar, noting that "essential services will be maintained" throughout the holiday period to ensure campus safety and critical operations continue uninterrupted.

The university management extended its best wishes to the entire campus community for a "happy and memorable celebration."
