In a groundbreaking move, a high-level delegation from the University of Maroua, Republic of Cameroon, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Idrissou Alioum, paid a courtesy visit to Modibbo Adama University Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria. The visit aimed to solidify an academic partnership and collaboration between the two institutions.

 

The delegation's visit was a reciprocal gesture, following the earlier visit of Modibbo Adama University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, to the University of Maroua. During the visit, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration.

The University of Maroua, established in 2008, is a public university located in Maroua, Cameroon . The university offers various undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in faculties such as science, economics, and management, arts, and humanities .

 

The partnership between the two universities is expected to facilitate the exchange of ideas, research collaborations, and capacity building. According to Prof. Idrissou Alioum, the collaboration will foster a synergy between Cameroon and Nigeria, driving growth and development in both countries.

Her Excellency, Deputy Governor Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, welcomed the delegation and expressed her appreciation for the partnership. She emphasized that the collaboration will not only be limited to academic exchange but will also build a strong synergy between Nigeria and Cameroon.

 

The visit has been hailed as a significant milestone in the history of both institutions, marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration that will have far-reaching benefits for both countries.
