The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, received a delegation from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in his office on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, received a delegation from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in his office on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Prof. Sunday Nduka, Dean of the Faculty, conveyed the faculty’s congratulations to the Vice-Chancellor and briefed him on its ongoing activities. He highlighted the faculty’s growth, supported by endowments, and its two departments: Pharmacy and Forensic Sciences. Prof. Nduka also outlined key challenges, including inadequate staffing, insufficient classroom and office spaces, absence of a CBT Centre, lack of an Animal Farm, and irregular electricity supply.

In response, Prof. Anyaehie assured the faculty of his support in addressing these issues. He promised to increase staffing, complete the TETFund building, and provide a coaster bus to ease transportation costs. The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized promoting patent rights for innovative staff and encouraging indigenous production of materials, noting the strategic importance of the faculty to the university.

Other members of the delegation included Prof. C.P. Ihekwereme, Prof. Ken Ngwoke, Prof. Emmanuel Uronnachi, Prof. Festus B.C. Okoye, Prof. Ike C. Uzochukwu, and Prof. M.C. Ugwu.
