The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, Fellow UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFP, CBER, FNIPR, on Saturday, 27 June 2026, led the University's delegation to the 11th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, reaffirming NSUK's commitment to strengthening collaboration among higher institutions and promoting academic excellence.

The colourful ceremony, held at the Ta'al Sports Complex, Nasarawa, attracted an impressive gathering of government officials, heads of tertiary institutions, traditional rulers, members of the diplomatic and educational communities, captains of industry, alumni, parents, and well-wishers to celebrate the graduation of students from the 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2024/2025 academic sessions.

Professor Liman's presence underscored the enduring partnership between Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and its affiliate institution, the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, as well as her administration's unwavering commitment to fostering inter-institutional collaboration for the advancement of higher education in Nigeria.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Tanko Muhammad, the Governing Council, management, staff, students, alumni, and the entire Polytechnic community on the successful hosting of the 11th Combined Convocation Ceremony.

Professor Liman commended the institution for its remarkable contributions to technical and vocational education, describing the Polytechnic as a critical driver of Nigeria's manpower development through the production of highly skilled, innovative, and entrepreneurial graduates.

She also congratulated the graduating students on the successful completion of their academic programmes and urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of their alma mater by upholding the values of excellence, integrity, innovation, and professionalism wherever they find themselves.

Representing the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, congratulated the Polytechnic on the successful convocation and expressed appreciation to the institution for conferring a Fellowship Award on the Governor.

Dr. Akabe commended the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Tanko Muhammad, for her visionary leadership and applauded the Governing Council and management for sustaining academic excellence and institutional growth. He reiterated the strategic importance of technical and vocational education in driving industrialisation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable national development, while reaffirming the Nasarawa State Government's commitment to supporting educational institutions across the state.

In her convocation address, the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Tanko Muhammad, highlighted the major achievements of her administration, including the restoration of peace and stability within the Polytechnic community, successful accreditation and re-accreditation of academic programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), expansion of academic opportunities, extensive infrastructural development through TETFund interventions, and sustained investment in staff capacity development.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of Fellowship Awards on the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe; the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa'id Ahmad; the Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada; the Chairman, House Committee on Federal Polytechnics and Higher Technical Education, Hon. Fuad Kayode Laguda; the Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Honourable Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I; the Federal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Hon. Dr. Aliyu Tijjani Ahmed; and the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje.
