Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, MNSE, FNSE, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, led a high-powered delegation to the residence of Dr. Muhammadu Indimi to appreciate his recent N2 billion donation to the University of Maiduguri, a contribution widely described as a landmark investment in education in the state.

The delegation comprised the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, former Vice-Chancellors Professor J.D. Amin, Professor Mala M. Daura and Professor Aliyu Shugaba, members of the Borno Elders Forum, a representative of the Shehu of Borno, the Chief Imam of Borno, State Commissioners, the Head of the Borno State Civil Service and the Chief of Staff. Their presence underscored the far-reaching impact of the donation on both the university and the broader Borno community.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Zulum described the donation as a critical intervention that would significantly strengthen the University’s capacity to deliver quality education, particularly at a time of mounting financial constraints facing public institutions. He commended Dr. Indimi for his sustained commitment to education in Borno State, across Nigeria and internationally.

In his response, Dr. Indimi expressed deep appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to advancing education in the state and beyond. He stated that the development of young people remains the core focus of his philanthropic efforts and expressed optimism that his contribution would stimulate further investments in critical institutions such as the University of Maiduguri, Borno State University and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
