ABU Faculty of Social Sciences Celebrates Academic Excellence

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has held a luncheon and award ceremony to honor staff members for their outstanding academic accomplishments.

 

The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Shamsuddeen Mohammed, expressed gratitude to the University Management for their unwavering support, stating that it has been instrumental in the faculty's academic excellence.

The ceremony recognized the achievements of six staff members who were promoted to the rank of professor and nine others who earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees between 2020 and 2024.

 

The newly promoted professors include Professors Samaila Shehu, Aliyu Yahaya, David Moveh, Dayyabu Hassan, Audu Jacob, and Rahanatu Lawal. Those who earned their PhD degrees are Drs. Shuaibu Mohammed, Idris Saminu, Rahila Yakubu, Khadija Sanusi Gumbi, Halima Sadiya Adamu, Hamza Auwalu AbdulAziz, AbdulRahman Dangana, Ogunbode Ogunboyi, and Muhammad Reza.

The Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Mohammed Nasiru Shuaibu, congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to continue their excellent work.

 

The Head of Department, Professor Rahanatu Lawal, attributed the department's success to the growth of its postgraduate programs, which led to the graduation of over 100 candidates recently. She expressed gratitude to the University Management for their support and appreciated her colleagues for their cooperation since her emergence as Head of Department.
