ABU Moves to Improve Medical Services on Campus

The Management of Ahmadu Bello University has moved to improve medical services on campus as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, paid a visit to the University Medical Centre to assess the services offered.

The Vice-Chancellor, who interacted with top personnel of the medical centre, said the centre must do all it could to ensure the wellbeing of patients.

Prof. Ahmed said the University would deploy counsellors to the medical facility to ensure patients' mental health stability.

At the University Medical Centre, the Vice-Chancellor was received and briefed on all consumables by the Deputy Director, University Health Services, Dr. Alex Otu.

Dr. Otu assured the Vice-Chancellor of the centre's commitment to effective service delivery.

He said the centre would do everything humanly possible to ensure that students finish their examinations without any health challenge.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor charged doctors, nurses and all other health workers to be diligent in their duties.

Prof. Ahmed noted that students need to be prioritized in critical moments like this.

He thanked all the staff and wished them well in the discharge of their duties.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied to the facility by the Dean of Students, Prof. Junaidu B. Sahalu; Director, Public Affairs, Auwalu Umar; and the Acting Chief Security Officer, Malam Ashiru T. Zango.
