Vice-Chancellor commissions NAPRI weather station provided by NiMet
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, today (Tuesday, 19th December, 2023) commissioned a weather station at the National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI) provided by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet).

NiMet is a federal agency tasked with the mandate of observing, analysing timely and accurate weather reporting, as well as climate information for all aspects of socio-economic development in the country.
Commissioning the weather station, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, expressed gratitude to the agency for its partnership with the University. Prof. Bala particulalry acknowledged with appreciation the provision of weather stations at three other institutes of the University.
In his remarks, the Director of the National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI), Prof. Muhammad Rabiu Hassan, who was represented by the Deputy Director of the Institute, Dr. Sa’ad M. Tanko, said the weather station would help the institute plan its animal and pasture breeding activities.

The NiMet team, led by Alhaji M. Mashi, disclosed that the facility is one of the many provided at different institutions within Zaria by the agency.
