ACU Management Overhauls Campuses in Major Cleanliness Drive

The Ajegunle and Offa-Meta campuses of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, have undergone a remarkable transformation, now sporting a clean, green aesthetic that has caught the attention of students and visitors alike.

Over the extended public holiday weekend and into the new week, the men of the university's Environmental Management Unit (EMU) worked tirelessly to give the campuses a comprehensive facelift. From the main entrance through the Law Faculty building, the Joseph Adetiloye Hotel, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences down to the Female Hostel, no area was left untouched.

At the Ajegunle campus, EMU personnel under the leadership of Mr. Olugbenga Fashina were spotted raking and packing droppings at the car park behind St. Andrew's, while also attending to the Faculty of Education building and other major locations across the campus.

The Offa-Meta campus received equal attention, with the EMU team clearing and levelling grass to enhance beautification. The university's tractor was also deployed to assist in clearing debris and packing waste, ensuring a thorough job across both locations.

The green initiative follows a recent appeal by the university management, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, who called on staff and students to join hands in maintaining a clean campus environment. The appeal came shortly after the delivery of 42 waste bins to the EMU for proper waste disposal.

The new waste bins have since been deployed at strategic locations across the campuses to encourage campus-wide cleanliness and responsible waste management.

The ongoing efforts are part of management's broader vision to redefine the campus landscape, reposition the institution, and elevate its physical environment to world-class standards.
