The Ajayi Crowther University Oyo has announced its 28th Inaugural Lecture, scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Faculty of Law Auditorium.

The lecture, titled “‘Shorsh,’ ‘Sors’ or ‘Church’ – Who Cares? Accents and Linguistic Capital in Nigeria,” will be delivered by Bolanle Olufumbi Sogunro, a Professor of Sociophonetics in the Department of English, Faculty of Humanities.

According to the university, the event is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m., with guests expected to be seated by 10:30 a.m. The Vice-Chancellor, Ebunoluwa Oduwole, will serve as Chief Host.

The university has extended invitations to members of the academic community and the general public, noting that the lecture is open for both physical and virtual participation.
