AD-COHST Proprietor Commends BUK for Admitting Diploma Graduates into Degree Programmes
The Proprietor of AD-COHST, Arc Aminu Dabo, has given kudos to Bayero University Kano (BUK) for the acceptance and admission of the diploma graduates of the institution to pursue various degree programs in the University.
He made this remark when he paid an advocacy visit to the Department of Optometry, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences BUK, ahead of the NUC second Verification Visit to the proposed Aminu Dabo University of Health Sciences (AD-UHS), a project established to provide an additional opportunity for the teeming youths with Diploma certificates to acquire higher health education.
Arc Dabo expressed his happiness explicitly to note that currently seven Dispensing Optiatianry graduates with Diploma Certificates and Licences by (ODORBN) from the college secured admission through direct entry (DE) into 200 levels optometry degree course at university while some of them were even about to complete their six-year intensive optometric study.

He said, "this is a clear attestation that the college is enthusiastically recognised by a well-known and high grade educational institution for its quality training and one of the accredited citadel learning centres for educational development, specifically in the critical areas of health and allied education.
Arc Dabo, who is also the Promoter of the new University, said the visit was aimed at offering him the opportunity to access the prerequisite for the establishment of relevant faculties and facilities for the training of Optometry program, soliciting for the assistance of the management and its experienced staff.
Responding, Prof. Barbie Ejukonemu, HOD Optometry, BUK appreciated the visit, describing the spring up of the proposed AD-UHS as a welcome development. He pledged readiness to assist the infant university to grow and stand properly on its foot for the benefit of society and those in the optometry practice.
Also, shading more lights on the career, Dr Prince Eric, head of Dispensing Optianary Department at AD-COHST who accompanied Arc Dabo during the visit, described the optometry profession as a very rewarding and explicit with higher rates of demand by the people, advising interested qualified DOP Diploma graduates to enroll in the program.
Arc Dabo, together with his entourage, toured some facilities and inspected equipment which included Dispensing Room, Ophthalmic Lab, Junior Clinic and Level Classroom in the various sections where students hold training. He also met and had a brief chat with some AD-COHST graduates who are now BUK students of Optometry program in the department located in AKTH premises.
