Adekunle Ajasin University Appoints Dr. Olubunmi Babalola as 6th Substantive Registrar

The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Grace Olubunmi Babalola as the institution's sixth substantive Registrar.

The decision was ratified during an emergency council meeting held on Monday, March 16, 2026. Dr. Babalola’s five-year tenure formally commenced on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Prior to her new appointment, Dr. Babalola served as the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs Division). Since joining AAUA in 2009 as a Senior Assistant Registrar and Head of the Legal Unit, she has rotated through critical leadership roles, including Council Affairs, Personnel Division (Academic Staff Establishment), and the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

A prolific researcher and part-time lecturer, Dr. Babalola is an author of forthcoming books on education law and governance. She has presented research at world-class institutions, including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and Durham University.

Dr. Babalola’s appointment is expected to bring a transformative approach to the University Registry, anchored in her vast experience in ethical governance and legal expertise.
