MAPOLY Mourns Passing of Distinguished Alumnus and Former Council Member, Arc. Sulaimon Oladipo

 The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has announced the passing of a prominent stakeholder and former member of the Governing Council, Arc. Sulaimon Olatunji Sunday Oladipo, who died today, Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Affectionately known as Arc. SOS, he was a distinguished 1987 alumnus of the Department of Architecture and a former National President of the MAPOLY Alumni Association (MAPALUM). Prior to his passing, he had a meritorious career in public service, retiring as a Director from the Ogun State Ministry of Housing in 2024.

In a heartfelt condolence message, the Rector, Arc. Dr. ‘Koye Jolaoso, described the late architect as a reliable leader whose contributions to the institution’s development remain indelible. "He was a supportive colleague and an accomplished individual who left an impactful legacy as a stakeholder in this Polytechnic," the Rector stated.

The Rector, on behalf of the Governing Council, Staff, and Students, offered prayers for the repose of his soul and for his family to find the fortitude to bear the loss.

The burial rites for Arc. Sulaimon Oladipo are scheduled to take place today, April 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at his residence located at Adeyinka Boulevard, Liberty Estate, Laderin, Abeokuta.
