FUNAAB Empowers 26 TETFund Research Awardees with Best Practices Workshop

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, organised a specialised one-day workshop for 26 academic staff members who recently secured the Institutional Based Research (IBR) grants supported by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dario, underscored that the initiative is designed to institutionalise high-quality research, accountability, and strict adherence to global standards within the university.

The Ag. Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovations and Partnerships (DRIP), Dr. Oluwagbemiga Adeleye, noted that the workshop was essential to correct previous challenges regarding reporting formats, compliance, and documentation.

Dr. Adeleye urged the awardees to look beyond the funding period, focusing on sustainable and impactful research that enhances institutional visibility. He emphasised that monitoring will now occur throughout the project lifecycle rather than just at the final stage to ensure credible outcomes.

This workshop aligns with the university's commitment to SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by fostering innovation and ethical governance in research.
