AI Takes Centre Stage as ACU Hosts Annual Entrepreneurship Seminar and Exhibition
Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has held its annual Entrepreneurship Seminar and Exhibition, focusing on the theme, “Artificial Intelligence and the Nigerian Entrepreneurial Landscape.” The event highlighted the institution's ongoing integration of digital competencies with conventional academic curricula.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Oduwole—represented by Professor Roland Isibor, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences—reaffirmed ACU's strategic commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.
Professor Oduwole noted that the rapid digital revolution demands that students are fully prepared for a corporate and industrial future shaped by artificial intelligence. To back this vision, the university offers over 20 vocational, skill-based courses that grant students official certificates of proficiency alongside their degrees.

Dr. Oluwaseyi Adedipe, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, emphasized that the curriculum balances vocational ethics with technological adaptability, preparing students for a workplace where humans and machines complement one another. He urged the students to remain resourceful and proactive to navigate the unique challenges of the Nigerian economic ecosystem.
During the practical exhibition segment, the Entrepreneurship Development Officer, Dr. Peter Oiku, explained that 200- and 300-level students are required to showcase and market their vocational innovations as part of their academic grading. The event also featured the formal unveiling of a new entrepreneurship magazine designed to document student innovations, alumni success stories, and emerging trends within the campus startup ecosystem.
