Akwa Ibom State Government Partners Topfaith University, Western Kentucky for Advanced Education for Akwa Ibom Students

The Akwa Ibom State Government is set to Partner Topfaith University, Western Kentucky University, USA, Refocus Africa Group and Knowledge First Academy to expose Akwa Ibom students to advanced system of education, acquire knowledge and wisdom to step into the bigger society with added advantage of survival in the bigger society and to explore the world, Myschoolnews.ng

 

This partnership was announced during a courtesy visit on the Commissioner of Education, Akwa Ibom State.

 

The Commissioner Of Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet stated that Governor Udom Emmanuel is a governor who is passionate about education, giving them the best qualitative education in the state and reiterated  that education is free at the basic level and  highly subsidised at the tertiary level. 

 

She added that the state government creates an enabling environment for the private schools in the State to thrive which she said is the reason Topfaith group of schools is thriving in the state.

Mrs. Etiebiet who extended her fecilitations to Topfaith Schools  on her 20th anniversary celebrations, thanked them for birthing and grooming a World class institution that has attracted foreign partners to the state.

 

The Education Boss who welcomed the foreign partners to Nigeria and to the state assured that the ministry is open to collaborations and requested for modalities which will serve as a guideline to kick-start the collaborations in order to give Akwa Ibom students a wide range of education opportunities to explore.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Board of Trustees,Dr. Emmanuel Abraham stated that the idea of Topfaith University  partnering with Kentucky University is to further expose the students to advanced system of education which will give them a bigger chance of survival in the larger society.

 

Dr. Abraham maintained that the aim of the partnership is to work Student exchange programmes, International student admission programmes, faculty and staff exchange programmes, applied research collaboration programmes, grabts conversions programmes, vocational development programmes and entrepreneurship programmes.

 

He thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for investing passionately in the education sector, describing him as a man who understands the value of Education.

He maintained that the successes of Topfaith University  has drawn these foreign personalities to partner with the state government and requested that the state government through the ministry of Education help actualize this partnership for the growth of the University  and Akwa Ibom State students.

 

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong Essien said the partnership is a welcome development and thanked representatives of the Kentucky University for choosing Akwa Ibom State for such an advanced opportunity. 

 

Comrade Essien further stated that leadership has to do with the state of the mind which is the reason the ministry of Information and Strategy is also ready to join in the partnership to ensure that Akwa Ibom students get the best out of the collaboration.

 

Also present at the Courtesy visit were Representatives of Western Kentucky University, Refocus Africa Group, Knowledge First Academy, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Lady Rose Bassey, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Akparawa James Edet, Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Akparawa Udeme Udofia and Director Secondary and Higher Education, Dr. Glory Ekpo.
