Akwa Ibom State University Acting Vice-Chancellor Unveils Plans to Reposition Institution

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Professor OtoAbasi E. Akpan, has outlined plans to enhance the institution's academic and infrastructural standing as a leading conventional university in Nigeria.

This announcement was made during town hall meetings with the university community on August 13 and 14, 2025, at the Main Campus and Obio Akpa Campus, respectively.

Professor Akpan is a Professor of History of Ideas and International Security Studies with over 28 years of experience in teaching, research, and community service.

He has held various positions, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Director of International Collaborations and Linkages.
