AMHS-UDUS to Host Orientation Programme for New Students

The Association of Muslim Health Students (AMHS) at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) is set to organize an orientation programme for newly admitted 100-level students. The event, scheduled for February 9, 2025, at 10:00 am, will take place at the ETF 1 Lecture-hall.

 

The programme aims to introduce new students to their academic environment, provide guidance on their field of study, and facilitate a smooth transition into university life. Participating departments include MBBS/BDS, Nursing Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Radiography, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Veterinary Medicine, and Nutrition and Dietetics.

According to Muhammad Sadis Saeed, Ameer of AMHS-UDUS, the association is committed to serving as a guidance and support system for new students. "We will provide essential information about their respective departments and the university as a whole," he stated.

The orientation programme is part of the association's annual activities, designed to help health students navigate their academic journey. Additionally, AMHS-UDUS will conduct a screening exercise for new executives at the 100-level, who will serve as representatives and report any challenges to the association.

 

The association has also organized tutorial sessions, where mentors from UDUTH will provide academic support to students at the main campus. This initiative demonstrates AMHS-UDUS's dedication to supporting the academic success and well-being of health students at UDUS.
