Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, has announced that 194 students will graduate at its 8th Convocation Ceremony scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026.

The announcement was made during a press conference held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the university’s Senate Chamber. The event brought together the Vice-Chancellor, members of staff and media representatives to discuss preparations for the forthcoming ceremony and reaffirm the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.

Addressing journalists, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP, emphasised that the university prioritises the quality of its graduates over quantity. He said the institution remained committed to producing graduates with the knowledge, competence and values required to make meaningful contributions to society.

In a move to connect classroom learning with professional practice, 200-level students of the Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies attended the event. Their participation was intended to expose them to the practical aspects of press conferences and demonstrate how such engagements are organised and conducted outside the classroom.

The students observed professional media interactions, listened to institutional communication and gained insights into the relationship between organisations and the press.

The 8th Convocation Ceremony is expected to celebrate the academic achievements of the graduands and mark another milestone in Augustine University’s pursuit of quality university education.
