Bayero University Kano Commended for Exceptional Treatment of Physically Challenged Students

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has received high praise from the National Universities Commission's (NUC) accreditation team for its outstanding treatment and provision of facilities for physically challenged students.

 

The team, led by Professor Tamuno Godwin, commended the university's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, particularly in the University Library. The library's facilities for students with physical deformities were described as "second to none" in Nigerian universities.

Professor Godwin noted that the resources and infrastructure installed in the library were exceptional and a "take-home experience" for the accreditation team. He added that BUK's provision of facilities for physically challenged people was overwhelming and equipped with modern facilities rarely found elsewhere in the country.

The accreditation team also commended the university's Department of History, stating that its philosophy was in line with NUC standards, and its admission regulations were up to standard.

 

The Vice Chancellor of BUK, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, Professor Abdullahi Sule Kano, expressed the university's commitment to peer review and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.
