The Management of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has commenced a preliminary investigation into reports implicating a student in alleged online impersonation and financial misconduct.

The inquiry follows circulating reports on social media and public commentary linking the individual to misconduct.

BUK stressed that any actions that could damage the university’s reputation are treated with utmost seriousness, clarifying that one student’s behavior does not reflect the institution’s values.

The university is conducting a thorough review to establish the accuracy of the allegations.

Should the allegations be confirmed, disciplinary measures will be implemented in line with university regulations and applicable laws.

BUK also acknowledged individuals like Professor Farooq Kperogi and other donors who have provided financial support to students, helping cover registration fees and other educational expenses.
