Borno State University Accident Victims Receive Medical Attention, 13 Discharged

Following the tragic accident involving Borno State University (BOSU) students on Wednesday evening, 13 out of the 24 victims admitted to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) Trauma center have been stabilized and discharged.

 

As of Thursday evening, 11 victims remain on admission, receiving expert medical attention. The Vice Chancellor of BOSU, Professor Babagana Gutti, visited the trauma center to offer support and wish the victims a speedy recovery. He commended the hospital staff and BOSU employees for their prompt response and care.

Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Engineer Lawan Abba Wakilbe, also visited the victims, donating N2 million to cover their immediate medical and other needs.

The accident occurred when a Dangote truck collided with a bus carrying BOSU students, resulting in the loss of two lives. The university community has come together to support the affected students and their families.
