BOUESTI Suspends New Tuition Payment Policy, Retains Installment Option

The management of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, has suspended the implementation of its newly announced tuition payment policy following concerns raised by students.

In a statement, the University said it acknowledged the peaceful manner in which students expressed their concerns over the earlier directive discontinuing payment of tuition fees by installments from the 2026/2027 academic session.

Management noted that it recognises the prevailing economic challenges facing many students and their parents or guardians and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no eligible student is denied access to higher education while also safeguarding the University's financial sustainability.

Following further consultations with the Governing Council, the University approved the suspension of the new policy. As a result, the existing tuition payment arrangement will remain in effect until further notice.

Under the retained policy, students will continue to pay their tuition fees in two installments—60 per cent in the first semester and the remaining 40 per cent in the second semester.

The University, however, reminded students of their responsibility to pay all prescribed fees promptly in line with the approved payment schedule.

Management also directed students with outstanding tuition fees for the 2025/2026 academic session to clear all unpaid balances without further delay, adding that the registration portal will be reopened to enable affected students complete their course registration.

While appreciating the understanding and cooperation of students, the University urged them to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused on their academic activities.

BOUESTI further assured students and other stakeholders of its readiness to continue constructive engagement in the interest of the institution's growth and development.
