Brilliant Nigerian Lady Graduates with First-Class in Law, Celebrates Outstanding Achievement

A remarkable Nigerian lady, Emmanuella Adaora Otu, has graduated with a first-class degree in Law from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Nigeria, marking the fulfillment of a dream she set for herself five years ago. 

Reflecting on her journey, Emmanuella shared that she initially had no specific academic goal when she joined UNIZIK’s Faculty of Law. However, she soon resolved to pursue excellence at all costs. 

“Few weeks in and I still didn’t have any specific goal, but I decided within myself that I will achieve excellence whichever way it takes,” she said. 

Despite balancing her studies with leadership roles and extracurricular activities, she maintained academic distinction. 

She served in over 11 leadership positions, completed seven internships, joined 15 organizations, and even founded a club. 

She also participated in 20 national and international competitions, authored over 15 publications, and earned multiple awards and certifications. 

Beyond academics, Emmanuella successfully ran a cake business, Melanie Cakes & Pastries, actively participated in faculty politics, and competed in some of the most intense elections throughout her university years. 

She also mentored and tutored junior colleagues, both formally as a CLASFON tutor and privately. Her dedication and perseverance placed her among the top 1% of her graduating class. 

Out of over 8,000 graduates from UNIZIK’s Class of 2024, only 80 students achieved a first-class degree—and she was one of them. 

Emmanuella attributes her success to faith, perseverance, and the unwavering support of her family, mentors, and friends. 

“I like to think that God listens to me differently and we have this thing going on between us. I feel favored,” she shared. 

With her first-class degree in Law, she looks forward to the next phase of her journey, ready to embrace new challenges, break more boundaries, and continue striving for excellence.
