BSUTH Takes Delivery of 600KVA Transformer to Boost Radiology Services
The Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, Makurdi, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, took delivery of a 600KVA transformer dedicated to the Radiology Department and other critical units of the hospital.
Speaking during the delivery, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, expressed gratitude to God and appreciated the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his continued investment in the health sector.
Dr. Hwande said the Governor’s support was evident in the recent procurement of world-class medical equipment and the donation of the transformer to cushion power supply challenges confronting the hospital.
The CMD explained that the dedicated transformer became necessary following the installation of heavy-duty medical equipment at the Radiology Department, as well as expert advice to protect and safeguard the sophisticated equipment.

He reaffirmed that BSUTH, under his leadership, remained committed to providing quality healthcare services to the people, describing the hospital as a “work in progress” requiring continuous improvement.
Dr. Hwande urged patients and relatives to channel complaints, including delays in tests, missing samples, and other service-related issues, to the Servicom Unit for prompt action. He also welcomed constructive criticism and appealed for objective media reportage.
Also speaking, the Head of Works and Maintenance, Engr. Undu Abenga, said increased patient inflow and acquisition of new equipment necessitated the dedicated transformer. He expressed optimism that it would enhance service delivery and prolong equipment lifespan.
