The morning session, described as engaging and thought-provoking, focused on the pivotal role of leadership in achieving excellence in service delivery.
Obasanjo’s speech centered around several key themes, including leadership development, service and godliness, and excellence in service. He stressed the importance of continuous physical, psychological, and spiritual growth for effective leadership, emphasizing that leadership skills can be acquired. He further highlighted the need for serving humanity and God, urging attendees to incorporate prayer and the fear of God in their daily lives.
Chief Obasanjo also encouraged the staff to embrace teamwork, develop leadership skills, and maintain integrity in their service. He charged them to set ambitious goals, such as positioning Bells University as the first Nigerian institution to produce a Nobel Laureate, while ensuring realistic and measurable standards for evaluating progress.
